Dear Second Grade Families,

We are very excited to have your child in second grade and we are ready for an exciting year of learning! The first few days were spent building a positive learning community in the classroom. Activities were planned to get to know each other and create a caring classroom community. Rules and routines were practiced. Students have also reviewed expectations at Riley and BIST procedures.

Classroom supplies will be furnished for your child at school. Please do not send pens, markers, erasers, pencil boxes and other such items to school. Keep those items at home to use for homework and spelling practice.

We are accepting Kleenex donations to help supply the classroom this year!

*Tuesday, August 24th – 6:00 Curriculum Night
*Tuesday, August 31st – 2:18 Early Dismissal

Please plan to attend Curriculum Night on Tuesday, August 24th at 6:00. We will be sharing important 2nd grade information.  We will be meeting in Mrs. Johnson’s room, Room 118.

Communication is important to us. You will be receiving pieces of information throughout the year. Remember to check your child’s backpack each night for possible notes and other items. Folders need to be returned the next school day.
